So, we milked June for the first time today. What an ordeal! She is not used to this, so was not happy to be restrained, but she calmed down alot when she realized she was getting flax/coconut chips at the same time. HA! Jason held her horns and stood over her locking her hips in with his legs. She didn't fight at all once we started milking. We didn't go for the big milk session as we are trying to ease her into it, but we did get a half glass full - and let me tell you, it's the best milk I've ever tasted! So sweet and creamy. I think once June is used to it she'll realize it's not so bad...and we'll start having yummy goat milk and cheese sooner now, rather than later!
